Location & arrival

The Alpenchalet Gosau is located in the inner part of Salzkammergut, in the central section of the long drawn-out valley of the Gosau, with glorious views out over the Gosau mountain crest, about 75 km from the festival city of Salzburg and only 29 km from the imperial town of Bad Ischl.

Arrival by car

Please note that since 1997 a motorway toll “vignette”sticker is compulsory on Austrian motorways. These are available at border crossings. For further information please go to the Austrian Automobile Association website at ÖAMTC.

Route 1: Munich – A10 Salzburg, direction Villach – Exit Golling - Scheffau – Abtenau – Russbach – Gosau
Route 2: A1 Vienna – Linz – direction Salzburg – Exit Regau – Pinsdorf – Gmunden – Altmuenster – Traunkirchen – Ebensee – Bad Ischl – Bad Goisem – Gosau

In Gosau, keep to direction Gosau-Hintertal. After about 2 km you’ll reach the Mittertal part of Gosau. On the left there’s “Hotel Hornspitz, right opposite turn up a narrow street. After 100 m you’ll see Alpenchalet Gosau on the left.

Arrival by train

If you are coming from Salzburg by train, you’ll arrive at Golling / Abtenau Station. Or, if you are coming from Attnang/Puchheim you’ll arrive at Steeg / Gosau.

Arrival by air

Salzburg or Linz airport would be your choice of flight destinations.
